New Beginnings
I have always loved writing and sharing my thoughts in the hopes of encouraging others to run to Jesus and serve him with all their life. Yet in 2017, many different circumstances caused me to take a step back from sharing my thoughts online. It was during a difficult season - we were still struggling with infertility and pregnancy loss, Jared was pursuing a job change (which led to churches looking us up quite a bit online and that felt uncomfortable at times). Plus, I was having an internal dilemma regarding social media and oversharing. So, I pulled my site and my words. Years later, I left up only two posts - Addie and Judah’s birth stories.
Now I find myself here in 2024… With notebooks and the notes app on my phone filled with thoughts waiting to burst out.
I’ve wrestled a lot with why now? Why come back? Is blogging even a thing anymore? Honestly I am not sure if other people still read articles and blog posts online, but I know that I do. I know I have grown, learned and benefited from introspective souls sharing their thoughts and reflections. Sharing my thoughts here may be less about how they can serve you and more about this overflowing desire to sort out what’s going on in my own heart and mind.
Can the artist stop painting? The composer stop composing? The gardener stop growing? The musician stop strumming?
I have always been a writer. I love it, and I am ready to come back to it and Lord willing not give it up. There’s been this burning in me to get these thoughts out there, and I am so excited to start Living In His Light.
I am a little older now, and a little more seasoned in my walk with Christ. I hope to share more about how God’s light has shown in my life - into the darkest parts and lowest points. He has been so faithful to me.
My hope is to fill this online journal with reflections and stories - true stories, of God’s faithfulness to this simple, midwestern mom who has a past filled with hardship but looks up and clings to her God - no matter what.
I am excited to get back into it, so thank you for reading this far. I look forward to sharing more. ☺️
